*This is the Monday morning “from the editor” post. In addition to your daily Truth, Tip & Find, I also introduce our fabulous guests for the week — and make sure nobody goes thirsty. More coffee, anyone?

Truth

I watched this viral Dustin Hoffman interview this past week — have you seen it? If you haven’t, I think you’ll enjoy it. Mostly because it expresses a truth that is hard to come by in our culture — a truth about real beauty.

A truth about what makes a person valuable.

A truth that, once realized, changes everything.

So for today, I’m going to let Dustin sit in for my Truth with his refreshing realization (it’s a quick watch!):

Tip

I’m a baking purist. If I’m watching my calories, I’m usually not eating many sweet treats.

So when I am going to splurge — I use real butter. I mean, you really can’t beat it for those ooey-gooey chocolate chip cookies, can you?

I took some cookies to a BBQ this weekend (they got rave reviews, recipe to follow in Find) and a girlfriend said, “These are wonderful. Did you use real butter?”

I replied confused, “Is there any other way?”

Find

These Chocolate Chunk Blondies from Ina Garten are yummy. My husband even said these “might be his new favorites.”

Now THIS is going to be a fun week:

Tomorrow we have award-winning humor writer, Wendi Aarons. Wendy is one of the creators of Mouthy Housewives and the much-lauded twitter feed @paulryangosling — and is also the director of Listen To Your Mother Austin.

Wednesday, it’s “dreamer, writer, knitter, crafter and hooligan,” Kara Fleck — editor and founder of SimpleKids.net.

Thursday, we have NYC magazine beauty editor, Alyssa Kolsky Hertzig — blogger at The Sparkly Life.

And Friday, it’s Suzanna Vicinus, contributor over at NickMom and Founder of Seacoast Kids Calendar, the “parents’ help desk for all things fun on the seacoast.”

Have a wonderful week, mamas! We’re so glad you’re here.
